Building an Accessible, Development-Centered Baseball & Softball Community for Portland Youth
The Portland Junior Dogs program is redefining what youth baseball & softball can be: Affordable, local, community-centered, and focused on developing strong athletes and even stronger young people. At a time when youth travel sports increasingly prioritize profit and exclusivity, the Junior Dogs are creating a model rooted in access, joy, and genuine player development.
With your support, we are establishing a dedicated indoor training facility that will anchor our program, strengthen local town teams, and ensure that every athlete—regardless of ability or resources—can grow, compete, and thrive.
Our Why
Youth travel ball has reached a tipping point. Many programs require extensive travel, expensive fees, and heavy weekend commitments. Portland families need a more accessible, community-rooted alternative.
Currently, training space is limited. We rely on school gyms or batting cages that are costly, inconvenient, and often unavailable. A dedicated indoor home is the missing piece that will unlock greater access, stronger development, and a vibrant local baseball & softball community.
